Russian-Guinean IGC 29-31.07.19
From July 29 to August 01, 2019, Anastasia Samarkina, the General Director of LEGINT Bureau, took part in the work of the standing Intergovernmental Commission of the Russian Federation and Republic of Guinea where she presented the company’s capabilities and proposed a number of promising mutually beneficial projects for consideration.
Ms. Samarkina informed the Guinean Party of an initiative to create a Foundation for assisting the Government of the Republic of Guinea and other African states in combating dangerous viral infections and consider potential creation in the Republic of Guinea of a facility for producing medical preparation developed in Russia, primarily vaccines for preventing diseases caused by the Ebola virus, GamEvak-Kombi and EpiVacEbola.
LEGINT Bureau’s representative also focused the attendees’ attention on the possibility of establishing a joint bank in Guinea to be co-owned with a Russian company to create an effective bilateral financial mechanism that would expand trade and economic cooperation and minimize costs and risks associated with fund transfers.
The Guinean Party supported LEGINT Bureau’s efforts aimed to have Russian companies involved in the upgrading and greenfield construction of hydropower and thermal power plants and hydraulic facilities in the Republic of Guinea. Agreement have been reached to provide the Guinean Party with up-to-date information on this matter describing the needs and other process parameters of such infrastructural facilities. Business meeting in JSC NOVATEK 03.07.19
On July 3, 2019, Bureau LEGINT assisted in holding a business meeting of experts of the United Mexican States Senate M. Patiño and M. Langoria, as well as the representatives of Institute for International Integration V. Smirnov and A. Markelov with O. Izvolenskaya, Head of the Gas and LNG Marketing Division, and R. Stolyarov, Deputy Director of the Department for Marketing and Sales of Gas and LPG in External Markets, JSC NOVATEK.

On participation in the “Russia–Africa” Conference
On June 20–21, 2019, representatives of the LEGINT Bureau took part in the “Russia-Africa” Economic Conference within the 26th Annual Shareholders’ Meeting of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).Due to the fact that the Russian Export Center (REC) has joined Afreximbank as one of its shareholders, it has now become possible for Russia to host the annual meeting of the entity designed to boost the trading operations of African countries. Such meeting was held outside the African continent only once, in China in 2012.

Participation in SPIEF 2019
On June 6–8, 2019, LEGINT Bureau’s team took part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) events.The Forum is one of the advanced international platforms arranged in the Russian Federation to boost the development of the domestic market, external relations and international cooperation. More than 19 thousand people from 145 countries, including the heads of 6 countries and the UN Secretary-General, took part in SPIEF. More than 650 contracts not constituting commercial secret have been signed for a total price exceeding RUB 3.1 trillion.

EAEU-Africa conference
On June 3, 2019, representatives of LEGINT Bureau took part in the international conference “EAEU-Africa: Economic Integration as a Development Driver for the Two Regions and Dialogue Between Them.”
The intensification of regional economic integration processes has become a new trend over the last decade. Existing associations are developing and new integration structures are emerging around the globe. Such trend may provide an additional impetus that will boost the development of the economies of both individual countries and entire regions, to become a sort of an economic growth catalyst. Moreover, when global crisis processes emerge or aggravate, regional integration associations become a sort of an “airbag” offering effective mechanisms for protecting the national interests of their member states.

XXVII Assembly of the Council for Foreign and Defense Policies
On the outcomes of participation in the CFDP
On April 13–14, 2019, the management of the LEGINT Bureau took part in the 27th Assembly of the Council for Foreign and Defense Policies (the “CFDP”). The Assembly held fruitful discussions focusing on topical issues associated with foreign-policy activities, including the development of public-private partnerships to boost the performance of measures being implemented in this area.
The company’s representatives held a brief presentation of the Bureau’s activities, provided specific successful examples of interaction between Russian businesses and government authorities in addressing foreign-policy tasks and described the existing operational potential in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. They also voiced that the company was ready for cooperation in providing information and analytical support for various projects in the regions of the company’s presence and had direct contacts with the political and business elite of the countries located in such regions that might be used to facilitate the foreign-policy efforts of the Russian Federation.

Russian-Mexican energy forum
On the results of Mexican-Russian
Strategic Planning ForumOn February 6-7, 2019 the Senate of the United Mexican States (hereinafter – Mexico, the States) hosted Mexican-Russian Strategic Planning Forum: “Prospectives for the development of energy industry within the economics of Mexico”. The event was organized by the Committee of Foreign Relations Asia-Pacific-Africa and the Committee for Energy of the Mexican Senate under the auspices of international group PIC and Russian Consulting Bureau “LEGINT”.
Mexican part at the event was represented by senators and members of the Mexican Congress, representatives of Mexican federal authorities, state and private oil and gas companies, social organizations committed to the expansion of cooperation with Russia.
The forum was attended by Deputy Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, special presidential representative of the Russian Federation – Alexander Babakov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia in Mexico -Viktor Koronelli. Bureau LEGINT during the lead-time and further at the forum was represented by Director General Ms. Anastasia Samarkina.
Inaugural speech was delivered by Chairwoman of the Committee of Foreign Relations Asia-Pacific-Africa of the Mexican Senate Mrs. Cora Cecilia Pinedo Alonso. In particular, she stressed that the reform of energy sector of economics of the UMS is one of the most important and high-priority objectives of the new Mexican government. Activities in this field allow for implementation of a range of interconnected infrastructural projects in various regions of the country and call for efficient joint work of public agencies, authorities of the states, large businesses actively powered by foreign counterparts, and in the first place by the Russian Federation. Mrs. Pinedo expressed her deepest belief that participation of Moscow and the representatives of business establishment of our country will contribute to implementation of the most important and mutually beneficial projects in the field of energy provided that investment prospects are backed by state guarantees and high recoupment. Herman Cohen, former Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, said that D. Trump and V.Putin during the bilateral meeting in Helsinki discussed, among others. the prospects for settling the internal political situation in the DRC and, in particular, the question of the safe return of M.Katumbi to Kinshasa and the opportunity for him to take part in the presidential elections in the Congo. The leaders of the United States and Russia recognized the important role of the incumbent President Zh. Kabila and called on him to create a favorable environment for holding elections, including. and for the exiled M. Katoombi and everyone who wants to participate in the presidential election of the DRC.

In a joint statement by the five leading Congolese opposition political parties, in addition to the requirements for the process of organizing elections, it was stated that the opposition will not boycott the elections, as this is what the ruling regime in the DRC is seeking.
